Much needed update

I decided I better do an update before the baby comes. Because then I really won't have time for blogging after that!! I can't believe that we're more than half way through July, and I haven't updated since May. I kinda suck! So, be prepared for a lot of pictures...

Our move went well, and we are loving our new place. Thank you so so much to our families for helping. We couldn't have done it without you! Samson's favorite part was the ramp on the moving truck. He run up and down that thing a ton!!

My family decided to have a little contest with graham cracker houses. We split into teams, and each had to make a house with graham crackers and a huge assortment of candy. Everything we used had to be edible. Here is our vast array of decoration choices.
This was mine and my mom's

The Walker family's (Snow White's castle - to Abbie's request)
Ben and Ashley's barn - complete with horses, and a pig in the mud!

Scott took Samson camping on a father's and son's outing with his dad. They had a lot of fun, and I'm glad I was able to stay home in my nice bed!

Playing with Grandpa!

Exploring nature

After they got home from camping, Sam discovered ants in Grandpa's back yard. He's loved them ever since. Every time he spots one, he has to bend down to look at it closely.

Nap time shenanigans.

I tried to upload a video, but my computer is being stupid, so the picture will have to do. When I went in to get Sam after his quiet time, I walked into him and his room covered with vasiline. It was everywhere!!
A few days later, I walked into this. He had climbed up onto his changing table, pulled his pillow up, and fell asleep on there. It was pretty funny.
We took a family trip to Bear Lake a few weeks ago. We crammed 15 people (10 adults, 5 kids) into a tiny, two bedroom condo for about 5 days!! Yes, we are crazy. Yes, we had a ton of fun!! Here are Sam, Abbie, and Lexi playing play-doh. Too cute!
We played a little Rock Band

The kids had a good time eating these HUGE marshmallows. Notice Samson's GQ poses, along with his orange fingers from his Cheeto's.

We played on the beach. Samson loved every minute of it. He had fun digging holes in the sand with daddy.

He also had fun wading in the water

Ben got a little too friendly with the little boat!! :)

What's a Bear Lake trip without getting ice cream from the store?!

We went to This is the Place State Park one day with my family, and we had a blast. Samson had so much fun, and was such a good boy. He loved the pony ride. I wasn't sure how he'd do, but he got right on, and was a champ!!

He also liked the little petting zoo

Andy caught a chicken, and the kids loved petting it.

We had an old-time photo taken with the whole family, which was so much fun. We all got to dress up in pioneer clothes, and I think Sam looked the cutest!! He was such a stud!

There was a mechanical bull there that day, and it was free to ride, so Abbie thought she'd give it a go. She did great, and had a lot of fun!! I'm so proud of her!

Then Arica went
Then Scott - show off with one hand!!

Then dad went

Even mom gave it a try!! (Don't I have the coolest parents ever?!)
Then Kevin went
Scott and Sam looked for gold - and found some!!

Scott's sister, Shelina, got married just a few days ago. It was a beautiful wedding, and she was a beautiful bride!! Congrats, Shelina and Kyle!!

Samson is our little swimmer. He LOVES to be in the pool. He puts on his floatie, and goes. He doesn't want anyone to hold on to him, he wants to do it himself. I must say, he's quite good at it!

Helping dad husk the corn for dinner. He loves to help whenever he can!
So, there's the update. Things with baby are going well. Nine days away from our due date. We'll have to see how things go. I went to the doctor today, and no progress so far. I'll see what I can do to get things going!! We'll keep you posted!

Big News

The Huish family has some big news to share... We're pregnant!!! Oh, wait. We already shared that. Ok, well we do have some more big news. We are moving!! We are so excited. We found a nice condo to rent in Taylorsville. It had two large bedrooms that will work out perfectly for our family. We've started moving some things in already, but there is a lot of work to be done before we moving in for good. The people that lived there before us were quite violent, we think. There are a lot of holes in the walls and doors. We're assuming that someone locked themselves in the master bedroom, and someone else forced their way in. There's also a lot of cleaning to be done. The previous renters left behind a lot of junk.

So, that's our news. We are so stoked about it!! I will be taking plenty of pictures, so stayed tuned. I meant to take pictures while were were there working yesterday, but I left my camera home. I was so bummed, because Samson was being so cute helping daddy fix things. I'll try really hard to remember my camera next time we go!!

HELP!!!

Here's the deal... I am in desperate need of a long-term babysitter. I've have a few in the last little while, and they've all been great, but they've only been able to help short-term. (Which we knew from the beginning.) We need someone that is flexible with the hours because Scott's schedule changes from week to week. My schedule is the same: I work M-F 7:30-12:30. There are times that Scott's shifts overlap with mine. So, it would only be in the mornings, and I would pick Sam up everyday no later than 1:00. (The drop off times would change according to Scott's schedule.) The days would vary as well. Scott gets two days off a week, and sometimes it's the weekend, and sometimes it's not.

Now, I'm not a fan of the day care thing - even if it's out of someone's home. I use to work in a day care, so I know how it is, and frankly, I don't think I could afford it. That's the other thing... we can't pay a lot. We've been paying our past babysitters between 2-3 dollars an hour. I know it's not much, but if you know of anyone that is looking to earn a little extra money, PLEASE let me know.

Sam is a great kid. I haven't had any complaints about him from our other sitters. He plays well with other kids, but is also content to play by himself sometimes. He is very well behaved. Granted he has his moments - he is 2 after all!! :)

If anyone knows of anyone that can help, please let me know ASAP. We need someone fast! Thank you all for your help!! :)

Easter and Potty Training

This is a little late, but better than never, right?! :) We had a pretty good Easter. The only bummer part was that Scott had to work all day. So, that kinda sucked. Luckily, he didn't have to work too early, so he was able to see Samson hunt for eggs. Sam did so good. He had a lot of fun with it. He is such a funny boy, though. He did a total of five egg hunts, and some he did great, but others he couldn't care less!! It was pretty funny. I didn't have the camera with me for the first two hunts, but I did for the last three. This is Easter Morning at our house.

He loved his Elmo gardening kit. He likes to pull out the rake and rake everything. Then he discovered that there were things inside the bag, too. He was thrilled!! :) This egg hunt was at my Grandma's house. He did great at this one, too. He does pretty good about finding the eggs before getting the candy in them. Although, once he saw one of those chocolate eggs, he was done for. He LOVES those!!

By the way... Isn't his Easter outfit super cute?!?! He was such a stud in it!! The last egg hunt was the day after Easter and Grandma and Grandpa Huish's house. He was not too interested in this one. I guess he was excited to be outside and play with the toys. He would go running to what we thought was to get an egg, but he was just running to a toy! He was able to get a few eggs, though with dad's help!

On another note... We've been working on potty training a little bit. Holy Cow, it is a lot more work than I thought it would be. Sometimes I think Sam is ready, but sometimes, I'm not quite sure. He gets really excited when he goes pee pee in the toilet, but he doesn't understand that he needs to let us know when he needs to go. I think part of the problem there is that he doesn't really talk. Oh well, we'll just keep working at it. I have to say that he looks really cute in his big boy underwear!! :) He also knows how to keep himself from getting bored while waiting!!

The results are in...

I had my ultra sound today. Everything went well. I have to go back in four to six week for another one, though. They couldn't get a good enough look, so we'll have to wait.

Just kidding!!! I do have to go back, but only so they can get a better look at the spine. They couldn't get a good enough look at the bottom of it, so I'll go back so they can check that. So, everything they were able to look at, they said it looked good. This baby is stubborn, though. (I don't know where that came from!) :) I didn't think we would be able to tell what we were having at first because the legs were crossed. But, in time we were able to get a good look. And............

We are having a GIRL!! We are so super excited! But Scott better watch out, he's gonna have a lot to handle if this is going to be a daddy's girl! (Which I hope she is!!)

New bed for Samson?

This is what we found Samson doing tonight. He plays with the door to Nabisco's kennel all the time, but this is what I saw when I went in to check on him tonight.

What a silly boy!! We had a pretty good laugh over this. I don't know when or how he figured out that he would be able to fit in there, but it doesn't surprise me that he did figure it out. He is such a smart little guy! He makes me laugh all the time, too. He sure knows how to work a crowd. (Or his mom.) :) Speaking of new beds, though. We are thinking about moving Samson into a big boy bed soon. I don't know if I'm ready for it, but I think Sam is getting close to be. He's growing up too fast!! We'll keep you posted when it happens!

Happy, Happy Birthday Samson dear

I can not believe the my "little" Samson is TWO!!! Where is the time going? Sam had a pretty good birthday, considering he didn't really know that it was any different than any other day!! :) His actually birthday was on Thursday, the 25th. But we celebrated with family with a party on Saturday. He had a good time, and got spoiled by everyone!!

Here is Samson on his birthday. My big two-year-old!!

Before people came over for the party, Sam was a good helper to get things ready.

He helped with the cupcakes...

And he helped Daddy mop the floor.

We started the party with cupcakes and ice cream. Sam wasn't too sure about the candles, which is kinda funny, because Scott has started teaching him that fire is cool. He knows how to blow out matches, but he wasn't sure about the candles.

Once the candles were blown out, and removed from the cupcake, Samson dove right in! He sure loves his cupcakes!! He seriously devoured that thing. I walked into the kitchen for a minute, and when I came back, it was GONE!!

Then he opened his presents. Like I said, he was spoiled. His family sure loves him, and I don't blame them one bit!! :)

He got a fridge phonics toy. It's way cool! They are magnets that go on the fridge, and you can put each letter in and it sings a little song to tell you what sound that letter makes. Samson has been having so much fun with it! The only bad thing is that I have the Alphabet song in my head all day!! :) Thanks Papa and Sha Sha! (The little red Mickey outfit in the back ground was from Grandma and Grandpa Huish. Thanks, guys. He looks so cute in his jacket!!)

I think there was a pair of pants in this bag, but I don't remember for sure!! :) This present was from Scott and I, so it's ok that I forgot!

Sam also got a stuffed Lightning McQueen car with a book that has the buttons you push to make the sounds during the story. Thanks Shelina and the Smith family!

Mommy gave him a big alphabet floor puzzle. He's has some fun with that. He likes to push all the letters out.

This one's from Daddy...

It's a fun little steering wheel toy thingy. Sam played with this for a long time in the store, so I knew he would like getting it for his birthday!! :)

All the other kids seemed to like it too! I think this picture is too cute!

Last, but not least, I think his favorite toy was the sit 'n spin he got from my sister and her family. Arica's girls have one of these at their house, and Sam had so much fun with it when he was over there last time. (It was a good experience to teach Sam and Lexi to share!) :) So, good call on this one, Walkers!! Thanks!!

He can really get going on this thing!
So, those were the festivities for Samson's second birthday. I think he had a good time. Thanks to our families for coming over and sharing in the fun with us! I know Samson loves and appreciates you all. Here's to another great year for our cute little red-head. I love you, Goofy Gut!!

P.S. I have my ultra sound on Wednesday. Make sure to get your votes it!! :)
