Daddy's little helper

A little while ago, while Scott was unloading the dishwasher, Samson decided that he wanted to be daddy's helper. He LOVES to sit and play with the dishwasher when it's open. He likes to pull the rack in and out. He also like to help load the silverware. (If you can call pulling them out and trying to put them back in "loading") He is such a cute little boy!! I just can't believe how fast he is growing. He turned ten moths old on Christmas, and he is developing such a personality!! He loves to play, and he laughs so much, and that just makes us smile! What a joy to have Samson in our home. We are so grateful for him, and love him so, so much! Please enjoy the pictures (sorry so many - it was hard to choose!!) and little video of daddy's little helper!!

P.S. Christmas photos will be coming soon!!

Anyone interested?

I am part of a book club reading young adult books. We have been meeting for about three or four months now. It has been so much fun, and I love reading young adult and children's lit. The only problem is that our group is so SMALL!!! We need more people to participate. Please let me know if you would like to be part of a wonderful book club. The book we are reading right now is "How Mrs. Claus Saved Christmas" by Jeff Guinn.

I have only read the first two chapters, but I have really liked it so far. If you are interested in joining our group, let me know and I will give you more information. You can either comment on my blog or you can email me at courtneyhuish@hotmail.com. We just started reading this book, so you wouldn't be far behind. Please, please, please help our group get bigger. ALL ARE WELCOME!!!

Skeletons in the closet

Here are a few pictures from Halloween. Sam was so cute!! His Grandma Huish got him a cute little skeleton costume to wear, and he looked so cute!! We weren't out for too long that night, because Samson wasn't feeling very well. He had a pretty nasty cold, and he had a horrible diaper rash on his bum that night. I felt so bad for him, but he did fairly well for the pictures. Scott and I dressed up as well. I was supposed to be a nurse or something from a crazy house, and Scott was my patient. Nothing too clever, but it was fun to rat out my hair!! I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween.

Oh, so cute!!

Here are some super cute pictures of the last little while. Samson is getting so big... I can't believe it! He is now 8 1/2 months old. Where has the time gone?! He has such a little personality that is so fun to watch. Sam is the sweetest little boy, we love him so much! Enjoy the pics!!

Samson's newest trick is standing himself up. He figured out how to do it so quickly. When we were putting him to bed one night, it took him so long to fall asleep because he kept pulling himself up. Sam is very good at it now, and does it ALL THE TIME!!!

This one is my favorite!!!

Here Sam and I are with my brother, Andy and his daughter, Eden. They came over to see our apartment before they went back to Omaha. Eden was upset right before taking this picture because she didn't want to go. Jill (her mom) got her to get the cute smile by telling her that she wanted her to frown for the picture. Eden thought it was funny, so we were able to get her happy face!

Samson had a bucket in his room from Easter... (Yes, it still had candy in it) While we weren't looking, Sam went into his room, and tipped the bucket over. He was having a lot of fun plying with the "grass" when we found him. We just couldn't resist taking pictures. What a funny little boy we have!

This is my friend, Toni's son, Benjamin. Samson and I were over at their house one day, and Ben wanted to play with Sam. They were so cute together. Toni's kids get so excited when I come over with Sam! Toni and I are friends from work, and we are so much alike, it's scary!! We have so much fun hanging out, though. We are hilarious!!

Pictures... Finally

So, I finally got around to posting pictures of when Ben got home!! I know, I'm such a slacker!! Anyways...
Here we are waiting anxiously for Ben and my parent's to come down the escalator.

Abbie (with the help of Arica) made signs for all of the kids to wear. This is the one they made for Samson.

Here is Abbie with her sign. She would only let Scott take the picture if Sam and I were in it with her. I wanted to get one of just her wearing the sign, but I'll take what I can get! :)
FYI: the tickets on the signs are from NickelCade, but Abbie told us that they all said "Uncle Ben gets home today" so they had to be put on the signs!!

And here's Ben! I had forgotten how tall he actually was. I'm pretty sure he grew a little bit more while he was in Germany, but I'm not entirely positive! It was great to see him, and fun to have him hold Sam... He sure loves his Uncle Ben!!

I took this picture two day after they got home. The jet lag was still taking it's toll. Ben said that his first two nights home, he slept a total of about 5 hours of something like that. He caught up on the rest during the day, on the couch with the pillow!
Well, those are all of the pictures I have for that adventure. It had been great to have Ben home. My older brother, Andy, and his family flew in the day after Ben got home, and they were here for a week. It was a blast having my whole family together again. It had been a long time! I have a lot more things to blog about, so I hope I'll get some more posts up in the next week. I just don't want to do it tonight because it's getting late, and my computer is being a little slow! Until next time...

Welcome Home!!

My little brother, Ben got home from his mission tonight. My parents left about a week and a half ago to Germany to pick him up. They toured for awhile, and all three of them returned home today. It was so good to see Ben again... He looks pretty much the same! We were able to go pick him up at the airport, and that was as lot of fun. I took some pictures, but I haven't uploaded them yet. I'll have to post them in the next couple of days. I just had to blog about how excited I am to have my baby brother home! Welcome home, Ben!! We love you!!

October?!?!

Where the CRAP did September go?! I can't believe that we're already into October! Last month just seemed to fly by. Samson had his six month check up last month, and everything looked good. He is gaining weight, and he's slowly getting some height. I just can't believe how big he is getting. He is now seven months old, and is learning new things everyday! He is starting to get into EVERYTHING!! He's so darn cute, though.

The biggest change in our family the last month has been that I've started working full time. I work at a drug testing company called Intermountain MRO doing data entry. My office is in my neighborhood, just around the corner from where we live. It's nice and close so that I'm able to walk everyday! I am really enjoying my job, though. The people I work with are awesome, and I get along with them well. Scott is staying home two days a week with Sam while I'm at work. The other three days Samson is with either Scott's brother, Brett or with my dad. It's been working quite well. Well, here are some pictures from the last month of our lives!!

We borrowed my sister's johnny jumper to let Sam try it out. The first time we put him in it, he wasn't too sure, but he got the idea after a few times. He has a pretty good time in it now!

Samson likes to try and help with the laundry sometimes. Scott was sitting folding the clothes one day, and Sam just grabbed the basket, and tipped it over and started playing with the clothes. He is so cute!!

As I was taking the pictures of Sam, I decided I needed one of Scott, too. So I got him to smile the same way I do Sam!! :)

This is on one of the Ute game days! We got Samson all dressed in his red and white. The hat didn't last too long, but he sure looked good in it!

Samson practices for the day that he gets the priesthood!!

I LOVE to sit and watch Samson sleep sometimes. He is such a sweet little guy!

Samson is getting so big everyday. One thing about me working is that Scott usually gets Sam dressed. I was a little worried at first, but I think he did an awesome job this day. Doesn't Sam look so studly?!

Samson hanging out on daddy's shoulder!
And last, but not least... A super cute video of Sam in the bathtub. He loves to bathe in the "big boy" tub! He's learned how to splash, and boy does he SPLASH!!!! Our bathroom is pretty soaked by the time he's done. Not to mention my clothes!! What a fun boy. I love him so much!!!

Mama Mia!!

Last week, my parents took us to see Mama Mia! It was SO good!! I had seen the play twice before, so I knew the story, and I absolutely LOVE the music!! So, when I heard they were making a movie of it, I was so excited, I now I've seen it. I really, really enjoyed it. I thought that it was cast very well. I love the girl that played Sophie, and I thought Meryl Streep did amazing!! The critics kind of bashed on Pierce Brosnan a little, bit I thought he did well. If you get a chance to see this movie, do - I highly recommend it!! They have now come out with a sing-a-long version, and I'm thinking I'd really enjoy going to that, too. I love this music. Scott gave me the soundtrack for my birthday, and I listened to it about five times in a row in my car!! It is so addicting, and so fun to sing along to!! So, go see Mama Mia! It's great!!!

Smiles and Laughs

I can not believe that Samson is SIX MONTHS OLD now!!! Time is going so fast. He has learned how to roll and scoot, and he is everywhere!! I have a feeling that he is going to be one of the kids that gets into everything. I think I'm going to have my hands full when he's a toddler! (Which is going to come too quickly, I'm afraid.)

Samson managed to roll and scoot himself under our little coffee table, but once he realized he was under there, he wasn't too happy about it!

This is one of our FAVORITE pictures. Sam has the cutest smile, and it is so contagious!! Scott put him in the laundry basket the other day, and Sam just loved it. He would not stop smiling. What a funny boy we have!

Samson has discovered a new toy.
We happened to leave an empty Dr. Pepper can on the floor one day, Sam found it, and had so much fun with it. He would try to grab it, and it would roll away so he'd have to scoot after it. Then, when he's finally catch it, he would but it straight up to his mouth like he's seen mom and dad do. He found that it would make a neat noise when he's "talk" into the can, and he loved that. I've since decided that it's not the best thing for him to play with, I don't want him to get cut on the sharp edges, so we have to get rid of our cans right away so Sam doesn't even see them. Once he sees one, he wants it!

I love, Love, LOVE this picture!! Sam has such a bright smile!

No one can get Samson to laugh like my mom. I will try the exact same things that she does, and I never get the same reaction from him that he gives to ShaSha!! He also laughs pretty good for his daddy. Here are some videos of Sam laughing.

Horray for the internet!!

Yay!! I have the internet again!! So, everything went smoothly last week getting our phone and internet hooked up, and now we are good to go! You may be asking: "So why has it taken Courtney a week to post pictures?" Well, I have a good reason - not really, I'm just lazy. So, moving on...
Samson helped daddy get our wireless network set up.

And I was obviously getting in the way of the "guy territory" and was told (by Sam) to go away.

Here are some things that happened while we didn't have the internet. Scott's first attempt at feeding Samson rice cereal by himself. Need I say more?!
Note: that was only the half of it. It was EVERYWHERE!! Sam's bouncy seat still has cereal crusties on it!!

Abbie trying to hold Sam's hand. He wasn't too thrilled about the situation.

Swimming in the kiddie pool at Grandpa Bruce and ShaSha's. (Don't mind the fact that I looked horrible. I had been cleaning and scrubbing my old apartment all day.)

ARRRRGG!!!!!

I know that you are all missing my posts, and so am I. I have a good reason for not blogging lately, though. Since we've moved, we don't have the internet. We got all set up to get a home phone and the internet last week, and we were suppose to be getting everything done yesterday. Well, the people at Qwest are stupid, and made a mistake. They added a second phone line for the people upstairs. So we didn't get our phone OR our internet set up. How dumb is that?! What's worse is that we won't be getting the internet until Monday!! I am not a happy camper about this, becuase I've been looking forward to updating my blog. So, here I am at my parents explaining my sticky situation. I hope you all understand, and that you'll forgive me! I hope to post some pictures soon!! Everyone keep your fingers crossed that everything will work out this time!! :)

Here is what Samson has to say:
nnnnnnnnn ubmn ,tr56f bm,vccccccvvvvvvvvm7 b vbcgfb8m ftbxyni
I have to say - I agree!!!!

Hi all! Sorry I've been so bad at blogging lately. Things have been really busy with our move. I just uploaded some pictures, so I thought I'd do a quick post. I don't have too much time because I've got to get Samson to bed - he's a bit fussy!! So, here are the latest pictures:
